Bulldogs Earn NCEA Academic Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- Twenty members of the Georgia equestrian team were recognized by the National Collegiate Equestrian Association for their efforts in the classroom, the NCEA announced Friday.
Fifth-years Courtney Blumer, Kendall Gill, and Sara Lewis, seniors Caitlin Lyons and Rachel McMullen, and juniors Leah Anderson, Sophia Pilla, and Emma Reichow were placed on the NCEA All-Academic First Team. Recipients must have competed in a minimum of 70 percent of the school's meets. They also must have earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 while maintaining full-time enrollment in the previous spring and fall semesters.
Sophomore Jax Bound and senior Ceci Bresch earned spots on the second team, which is given to those who earn a 3.25 GPA. Sophomore Jordan Davis and juniors Sophie Lucas and Jordan Toering were placed on the honorable mention squad for earning a 3.0 or better.
The honor is the fourth for Blumer and Lewis and the third for Bresch, Gill, Lyons, and McMullen. It's the second for Anderson, Pilla, Reichow and Toering.
Emily Blecher, Kennedy Bryant, Hayley Freeman, Jessica Guginsky, Victoria Kendle, Harper Lawson, Austin Layer, Hannah Jane Lucas, Jada Mark, Kalli Meagher, Bay Noland-Armstrong, Ada Rohan, Meg Seidel, Hannah Smith, Isabelle Song, Hazel Taylor, Spencer Toohill represented the Bulldogs on the NCEA Academic Honor Roll. The top academic student-athletes who have earned a cumulative GPA 3.25 while maintaining full-time enrollment earn a spot on the list.
Next up, the Bulldogs are seeded sixth for the NCEA National Championship taking place April 13-15 at the World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Florida. The Bulldogs will face Oklahoma State in the first round on Thursday, April 13 at 2:30 p.m.
