Georgia Finishes Day Two of Georgia Tech Invitational

ATLANTA — The University of Georgia men's tennis team concluded day two of the Georgia Tech Invitational with a win in both singles and doubles at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex on Saturday.
The day began with doubles competition, where Ryan Colby and Filipe Costa won their first match together. The pair moved past Theo Dean and Eric Li of Yale using a breaker to win the match by an 8-7(3) score. In singles play, Parker Mariencheck improved to 8-3 on the season with a win on Saturday. The freshman won his sixth match of the season in straight sets after defeating Liberty's Ernst Gouws by a 6-4, 6-1 result.
Through two days, Georgia is now 3-5 across eight doubles matches and 5-8 in its 13 singles matches.
The team will return to action for its final day of fall competition at the Georgia Tech Invitational on Sunday. Play will start with doubles at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex at 9 a.m. ET, with singles getting underway afterwards.
In doubles, Mariencheck and Parker Jacques will take on Elias Shokry and Robert Bauer (Georgia Tech), Niels Ratiu and Colby will play Aidan Reilly and Dean (Yale) with Costa and Cyrus Mahjoob rounding out action for the Bulldogs against Matija Samardzic and Gouws (Liberty).
