ATHENS, Ga. – Following a historic 2023 season, University of Georgia graduate midfielder Croix Bethune and redshirt freshman midfielder Summer Denigan were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team, as announced by the organization in Kansas City.

Bethune was named to the First Team for the third-consecutive season, following appointments to the 2021 and 2021 All-Pacific Region First Teams, while Denigan was named to the Third Team. Denigan was the only first-year player to be named to one of the three All-Southeast Region teams.

For Georgia (13-4-6, 4-3-3 SEC), it marks the fourth-consecutive season with multiple All-Region honorees, following four named to each of the past two rosters.

Bethune finished her first season in Athens with 13 points, including four goals and five assists, while playing in 15 games with 13 starts. The Alpharetta native opened her Bulldog career with a goal against LSU in her first 10 minutes of action on Sept. 21 and earned Second Team All-SEC honors before posting a terrific postseason run. Bethune was named SEC Tournament MVP after scoring an equalizer against Kentucky in the quarterfinals before scoring the winning goal with 27 seconds remaining against Texas A&M in the semifinals. In the NCAA Tournament, she assisted on both goals against Liberty in the first round, followed by the go-ahead goal in the third-round match against Clemson.

Denigan tied for the team lead with six goals, including five winning goals as she played in 22 matches with 15 starts. Following her debut season with the Bulldogs, the Union, Kentucky native was named SEC Co-Freshman of the Year, along with Second Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman honors. Denigan scored her first career goal in a tie against No. 9 Clemson on Sept. 10, followed by clinching goals against Missouri and Vanderbilt. Later in the season, she was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week after a winner at Tennessee and scored the Bulldogs' lone goal against Kentucky, helping the program clinch its first SEC East title.
