Cary, N.C. —  The Georgia women's tennis team saw Bulldogs advance to the main draw in the singles and doubles brackets on the fourth day of the ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday.

Flipping the order of play, the singles bracket saw junior Mai Nirundorn take the court in the morning to face Victoria Allen (Florida State) in the qualifying round of 64. Riding a four-match win string in singles play, Nirundorn wasted no time getting going as she quickly finished Allen 6-3, 6-4 in straight sets. Sophomore Anastasiia Lopata took the court at the same time across the park as she faced Malaika Rapolu (Texas). Lopata took the first set comfortably 6-3, but the following two sets leaned opposite as she fell 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 in a three-set battle.

Sitting one victory away from advancing to the main draw, Nirundorn was set to face Elizabeth Scotty (North Carolina), but was awarded a walkover due to illness. Therefore, Nirundorn's winning streak increased to six matches as the Bangkok, Thailand-native had officially advanced from the pre-qualifying draw all the way to the main draw, where she will join her teammate junior Dasha Vidmanova in action starting Wednesday.

In doubles action, the new tandem of Aysegul Mert and Dasha Vidmanova continued to shine together as their run in the ITA doubles bracket tournament saw them sit one victory away from the main draw.

The duo was drawn against Victoria Erechtchenko and Radka Buzkova (Colorado State). A heavily contested battle saw both sides go the distance in the pro-set at 7-7 to force a tiebreaker, before the Bulldogs swung all momentum in their direction to win the set 8-7(2) and move on to the main draw.

The pairing will now join the other Georgia duo in the main draw of Nirundorn and junior Guillermina Grant, as both partnerships will be set to open the main draw rounds on Wednesday.
