Brumlow and van Wyk Earn Top-20 Finishes at Ben Hogan Collegiate

FORT WORTH, Texas — The University of Georgia men's golf team concluded the Ben Hogan Collegiate in seventh at seven-over 847 on Monday as Ben van Wyk earned the fourth top-10 finish of his career as a Bulldog.
Georgia finished 18 holes on the par-70, 6,885-yard layout at the Shady Oaks Country Club with a three-over 283 for a seven-over 847 total. The team had an impressive start to the final round, with the Bulldogs carding an eight-under on the day through the front nine but were unable to capitalize down the stretch. Vanderbilt won the team title at 16-under 824, edging past North Carolina by one stroke with Arizona State finishing in third at 13-under 827.
Van Wyk finished his third round one-over to solidify his place in the top 10, ending the tournament tied for seventh place at four-under. The graduate student earned 13 birdies throughout the event, tied for the second-most of anyone in the field.
Buck Brumlow led Georgia at four-under on the day through the midpoint of the round. The junior ended the tournament tied for 15th on the individual leaderboard at two-under 208, notching his third top-20 finish of his career.
Connor Creasy shot two-over during the third round, ending tied for 43rd at six-over 216, while Carter Loflin shot three-over for a 58th-place finish at nine-over 219. Caleb Manuel had the non-counting score of the day at six-over.
The Ben Hogan Collegiate marked the third of four fall competitions for Georgia, who will round out 2023 at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic hosted by Hawaii on Oct. 26-28.
