Dogs XC Continue Tradition Of Earning USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- One Bulldog earned U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Academic Individual honors and both Georgia squads earned All-Academic Team honors for the 17th straight year, according to a recent announcement.
 
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the Top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships.
 
Bowers, a native of Milton, Ga., who had a 3.25 GPA, earned All-Academic Individual honors for the second year in a row.  He led the Bulldogs in four of meets this past fall, including his 20th-place finish to earn All-Region honors for the second consecutive season.  
 
In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period.
 
The Lady Bulldogs had a 3.7 GPA and finished 19th at the 2022 NCAA South Regional.  The Georgia team had the top GPA of any UGA team during the 2022 fall semester.
 
The Georgia men posted a 3.34 GPA and were ninth at both the Southeastern Conference meet and at the Regional.  The Bulldogs finished with the second-best GPA among all men's sports at Georgia at the conclusion of the fall semester.
 
Members of Georgia's track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Texas Tech Open & Multis in Lubbock, Texas.
