Athens, Ga. – Former Georgia women's tennis player Stacey Schefflin, now Schefflin Slomka, and the 2021 North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame class were inducted this past weekend.

The Charlotte native competed in Athens from 1987 until 1990 where she was a five time All-American from 1988-90. She had a career record in singles of 133-41, and in doubles a career record of 86-26. In 1989, she joined Shannan McCarthy as the first players in Georgia women's tennis history to be named All-Americans in singles and doubles. At the time of her graduation, the 1990 Regional and National Senior-of-the-Year held the second most singles and doubles victories. Currently, she is second in all-time career singles wins.

She also was a two-time NCAA Singles Championship Participant competing in the first round in 1988 and reaching the Round of 16 in 1989.

"What a huge and well-deserved honor for Stacey to become a member of the North Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame," Head Coach Jeff Wallace said. "As my first recruit and first All-American at Georgia, I am thrilled for Stacey and her amazing family."
