Georgia Climbs Rankings to Set Up Top-10 Showdowns

ATHENS, Ga. — The University of Georgia men's tennis team moved up to No. 8 nationally, while six Bulldogs were featured in the latest singles and doubles rankings released by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday.
Georgia, which sits atop the SEC with a 10-3 overall record and 2-0 mark in league play, will host a pair of top-10 teams this weekend in Athens. The Bulldogs take on No. 4-ranked Florida at 3:30 p.m. ET Friday and No. 7-ranked South Carolina at 1 p.m. ET Sunday.
In singles, Georgia is led by No. 19-ranked Hamish Stewart and No. 31-ranked Tristan McCormick. That duo has combined to go 21-4 during the dual-match season, with Stewart boasting a 6-1 mark at the No. 1 court and a team-best 11 wins against ranked opponents.
Senior Philip Henning is ranked No. 40 nationally, while senior Trent Bryde is at No. 84. Henning and Brydelead Georgia with a No. 27 national doubles ranking.
There are three other Georgia duos that are ranked in doubles, including the No. 55-ranked combo of Stewart and McCormick, No. 58-ranked Stewart and Henning and the No. 62-ranked pair of Blake Croyder and Erik Grevelius.
This group of Bulldogs is busy preparing for Friday's match against the Gators. Fans are encouraged to wear white, and the first 150 spectators will receive a free Georgia tennis t-shirt.
