Boyan Named Third Team All-American

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia graduate midfielder Abby Boyan was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-America Third Team, as announced by organization in Kansas City.
 
Boyan is only the fourth player in program history to be named to an All-America Team, joining Stephanie Yarem (1997, 1998), Carrie Patterson (2007), and Mollie Belisle (2021). The Spring Lake, New Jersey native's honor joins an already impressive list of accolades, including United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team, First Team All-SEC, and the SEC Community Service Team.
 
Boyan started all 22 matches and tallied 1,727 minutes, setting new program records for career starts and appearances in the process. She led the team in shots and shots on goal, while ranking second in assists and fifth in minutes and goals. Playing primarily at attacking midfielder, she piloted a Georgia attack that racked up 43 goals and 117 points on the season.
 
During her five years in Athens, Boyan has been named to three All-Southeast Region Teams and three All-SEC Teams. In addition to her starts and appearances records, she finished her career ranked second all-time in shots (204) and sixth in assists (19), while playing 7,896 field minutes.
