ATHENS, Ga. – For the second-consecutive year, four members of the University of Georgia soccer team were named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region Team, as announced by the organization.

Graduate midfielder Abby Boyan was named to the All-Region First Team, while graduate forward Dani Murguia and junior defender Madison Haugen were chosen for the Second Team, and graduate defender Cecily Stoute received Third Team honors. For Boyan, this is her third-consecutive All-Region honor and the second-straight accolade for Murguia and Stoute. Four players honored ties the 2011 and 2021 teams for the most in program history.

Along with the All-Region honor, Boyan was previously named to the First Team All-SEC and SEC Community Service Team. The Spring Lake, New Jersey native started all 22 matches and tallied 1,727 minutes, setting new program records for career starts and appearances in the process. She led the team in shots and shots on goal, while ranking second in assists and fifth in minutes and goals. Playing primarily at attacking midfielder, she piloted a Georgia attack that racked up 43 goals and 117 points on the season. Previously named to the All-Region Second Team in 2020 and 2021, this is Boyan's first First Team honor.

Following a Third Team citation in 2021, Murguia moved up to the Second Team this season after being named to the SEC All-Tournament Team. The Cleburne, Texas played in all 22 matches with 19 starts, leading the team in goals (8) and points (17), while ranking second in shots on goal. Murguia scored off the bench in each of the first two regular season matches, but she saved her best for the postseason: scoring the winners against Tennessee in the SEC Tournament and Samford in the NCAA Tournament along with an equalizer against South Carolina at SECs. With the feat, she became the first player in program history to score in three consecutive postseason matches.

Haugen received All-Region honors for the first time after a breakout season, starting in all 22 matches in her first season on the backline. The Cumming native led the team in assists, while also ranking second in points and third in minutes and goals—she also led the team with three unassisted goals. Haugen was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week on Sept. 27 after posting two assists at Florida. She also scored an equalizer against Mississippi State that clinched an SEC Tournament bye, while also posting a goal and assist in Georgia's two NCAA Tournament matches. Along with her on-field exploits, she was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
