Bulldogs Conclude Play at the Jacksonville Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The University of Georgia women's tennis concluded the Jacksonville Classic with five wins on Sunday, Oct. 30. In total, the Bulldogs tallied 13 total wins – nine singles and four doubles.
After a dreary day two, the Bulldogs opened the final morning with doubles play. The 46th-ranked duo of Guillermina Grant and Ania Hertel defeated LSU's Maggie Cubitt and Mia Rabinowitz 7-5, while graduate Meg Kowalski and sophomore Mell Reasco topped UNF's Kit Gulihur and Isabel Oliveira 6-4.
In singles action, Georgia posted three wins. No. 101 Ania Hertel picked up a 6-4, 6-2 win over North Florida's Isabel Oliveira, while sophomore Mai Nirundorn defeated LSU's Nina Geissler 6-3, 6-1. Kowalski picked up the final win of the day, topping North Florida's Annabelle Davis by retirement.
Next up, senior Lea Ma will represent the Bulldogs in San Diego, California at the ITA National Fall Championships (Nov. 2-6), while Georgia will send another group of athletes to the NC State Invitational (Nov. 4-6).
