October 24, 2022 | Soccer

ATHENS, Ga. – Following a pair of shutouts against Ole Miss and Kentucky, freshman goalkeeper Jordan Brown was named SEC Freshman of the Week for the second-consecutive week, as announced by the conference office in Birmingham Monday afternoon.

Brown continued the outstanding start to her career, helping Georgia (11-5-1, 5-3-1 SEC) post a pair of shutouts against the Rebels and Wildcats. In the Ole Miss match, the Las Vegas native helped the Bulldogs earn a critical win by making three of her four saves in the final 10 minutes of play, in addition to posting a shot on goal off a free kick in the first half. Against Kentucky, Brown made two saves in the second half, paving the way for the Bulldogs to eventually prevail 3-0 on the road.

Due to Brown's play, Georgia has posted three consecutive shutouts in conference play for the first time since 2010. Additionally, she is the first goalkeeper in program history to earn a clean sheet in each of her first three starts.

Georgia closes its 2022 regular season slate at Mississippi State on Thursday, Oct. 27 at 7:30 p.m. in Starkville. The match will be streamed live on SEC Network+.
