Hollingshead Earns Back-To-Back Freshman of the Week Honors

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia freshman forward Jillian Hollingshead has garnered Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week recognition for the second consecutive week, the league office announced Tuesday.
The Powder Springs, Ga., native becomes the first Lady Bulldog since Caliya Robinson in 2016 to earn back-to-back SEC Freshman of the Week honors.
Hollingshead has been impressive in her first season at Georgia. This past Sunday, she totaled eight points in 18 minutes to lead the Lady Bulldogs to their ninth-straight win against the Florida Gators. She played particularly well in the second half, scoring six points, including an important putback late in the third quarter.
This comes after she posted the first double-figure scoring game of her career with 12 points in 15 minutes of action against South Alabama. She was perfect on the day against the Jaguars, knocking in 4-for-4 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line.
Hollingshead has played in 13 of 14 games and has scored eight or more points in six of those contests.
Her honor marks the third-straight week Georgia has boasted a conference award winner. Senior center Jenna Staiti was also named the ESPN National Player of the Week on Dec. 20, following her 21-point, 11-rebound performance in the win against No. 2 NC State.
No. 15-ranked Georgia is set to play at 21st-ranked Kentucky this Thursday at 7 p.m. in Lexington. That contest will air on SEC Network +, while Jeff Dantzler handles play-by-play duties on the Georgia Bulldog Sports Network.
