The Bulldogs are ranked as high as No.14 in the preseason. The 2022 season, under the direction of Ike Cousins head coach Scott Stricklin, begins Feb. 18 at Foley Field. The Bulldogs will feature 29 returning lettermen including eight starters around the diamond and 13 pitchers who logged innings a year ago.

Georgia sold out season tickets heading into the 2020 season when it was a consensus top five preseason pick. The Bulldogs were ranked as high as No. 2 when the season was cut short due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Seating was limited for much of the 2021 season due to the pandemic. A total of 83,986 fans packed Foley Field in 2019, which was the most since 2009. That year, a record total of 93,360 fans cheered on the Bulldogs, who were ranked No. 1 five different weeks of the season.
