ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia's Caterina Don has been named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District At-Large Team, the organization announced on Thursday.

Don was one of 13 honorees from District 4, which encompasses schools in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Puerto Rico and South Carolina. She is now a candidate for the national Academic All-America At-Large Team.

Don was named second-team All-SEC this season after recording a 73.70 stroke average over 27 rounds, with nine par-or-better efforts. Don broke the Bulldogs' 18-hole scoring record with an 8-under 64 in the second round of the LTWF Heroes Intercollegiate in February. She finished third at that tournament, one of four top-20 individual finishes in nine tournaments.

Don helped Georgia six top-5 team finishes during the 2020-21 campaign, including a 15-stroke victory at the NCAA Columbus Regional. The Bulldogs then finished 18th at the NCAA Championships, Georgia's 17th top-20 effort all-time at the national championships.

Don, who is from Pinerolo, Italy, also competed in the 2021 Augusta National Women's Amateur. She is one of only nine golfers to make the 30-player cut for the final round of the ANWA in both 2019 and 2021.

Academically, Don sports a 4.0 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in Mathematics. She has been named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team and the SEC Academic Honor Roll during each of her first two years in Athens.

The At-Large Team covers multiple sports, with student-athletes competing in beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming & diving, tennis and water polo eligble for nomination. Georgia swimmer Courtney Harmish also was named to the All-District Team.

Two Georgia golfers have earned national CoSIDA Academic All-America recognition previously. Julia Boros secured first- and second-team honors in 1998 and 1997, respectively, and Shannon Ogg was a second-team selection in 2000.
