Boling, Drop Named To CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field Team

ATHENS, Ga. --- Senior Jessica Drop and sophomore Matthew Boling have been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Track & Field/Cross Country Team, as announced by the organization on Thursday.
This is the third straight All-District honor for Drop and the first for Boling. Additionally, this is the fourth consecutive season in which Georgia has had two honorees. Drop garnered Second Team Academic All-America honors in 2020.
Drop, a native of Durham, Conn., posted a 3.90 GPA in Cellular Biology. The 2020 Southeastern Conference Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year was also named the 2021 SEC Brad Davis Community Service Leader of the Year. Graduating Summa Cum Laude, Drop is a six-time All-American distance runner for the program who currently owns school records in the outdoor 5000 meters as well as the indoor 3000m and 5000m.
Boling, a native of Houston, Texas, has a cumulative GPA of 3.37 in Marketing. The 2021 SEC Indoor Scholar-Athlete of the Year owns school records in the 200m and was part of record-breaking 4x100m relay outdoors while also setting the 200m record and running a leg on the fastest 4x400m relay in school history indoors. The 2021 NCAA indoor 200m champion was a First Team All-American in the indoor 4x400m relay and outdoor 4x100m relay as well as the outdoor 100m and 200m this year.
Boling competed most recently at the 2021 U.S. Olympic Trials and was a semifinalist in both the 100m and 200m.
Drop and Boling advance to the Academic All-America Team ballot now with voting for those squads beginning on July 20. The Academic All-America Team rosters will be announced on Aug. 12 at 12 p.m.
