Bulldogs Post Best Women’s GPA, Eight Make SEC Academic Honor Roll

ATHENS, Ga. --- The University of Georgia tennis team posted the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) for the spring semester of any UGA women's team, tallying a 3.57 mark.
In fact, the 3.57 GPA ranked second among all UGA sports, trailing only the men's cross country team that earned a 3.61 mark. Additionally, eight veteran Bulldogs from the women's tennis team made the Spring Southeastern Conference Academic Honor Roll.
In related news, the 2021 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll was released by the league office. This honor roll includes the sports of baseball, golf, softball, tennis and track and field. It is based on grades from 2020 Summer, 2020 Fall and 2021 Spring terms. Any student-athlete who participates in a SEC championship sport, has a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher, and has completed a minimum 24 semester hours, is eligible for nomination.
Here's a look at the eight Bulldogs from the tennis team that made the 2021 Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll:
Elena Christofi (Financial Planning, Athens, Greece), Alee Clayton (Communication Studies, Huntsville, Ala.), Morgan Coppoc (Risk Management & Insurance, Tulsa, Okla.), Marta Gonzalez (Mechanical Engineering, Madrid, Spain), Anna Hertel (Journalism, Warsaw, Poland), Katarina Jokic (Risk Management & Insurance, Novi Grad, Bosnia), Meg Kowalski (Sport Management, Chicago, Ill.) and Lea Ma (Sport Management, Dix Hills, N.Y.).
Four Bulldogs from the 2021 squad earned their UGA degree: The latest Georgia graduates are Coppoc, Christofi, Gonzalzez and Jokic. The 2021 First-Year SEC honor roll will be released later this month.
The Bulldogs, led by head coach Jeff Wallace, finished the year ranked No. 4 nationally after going 23-2 and winning the SEC regular season and tournament titles.
