Three Bulldogs Earn Second Team All-SEC Honors

ATHENS, Ga. – University of Georgia men's tennis players Trent Bryde, Philip Henning and Tyler Zink were named Second Team All-SEC for their impressive efforts throughout the 2020-21 season, announced Friday morning. This marks the first time for either player to receive the honor.
Bryde, Georgia's No. 1 singles and doubles player, is the Bulldogs' highest-ranked player with a No. 5 national doubles ranking and stacks up as the No. 16-ranked singles player in the nation. The 2020 Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-American has totaled nine wins at the No. 1 singles court and has recorded 13 wins in doubles alongside Tyler Zink to lead Georgia. Most recently, the Suwanee, Ga., native was awarded a wild card bid to the 2021 Truist Atlanta Open.
Bloemfontein, South Africa, native Henning leads the Bulldogs in singles wins with 18 overall, including 13 during the dual-match season. Henning ranks No. 20 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings. In doubles, he has teamed up with Erik Grevelius to tally 10 wins during the dual-match season. Henning was named SEC Player of the Week earlier this month.
Zink, who capped the regular season with back-to-back singles wins, totaled 9 dual singles victories, including six at the No. 2 court. The Jupiter, Fla., native rose to the No. 26 spot In the most recent ITA Singles Rankings. He and Bryde are the Bulldogs' top-ranked doubles pair with a No. 5 national rankings. Teaming up with Bryde, Zink recorded 13 wins this spring. In March, he was named SEC Newcomer of the Week.
