Christofi Reaches Milestone in 4-0 Win Over Tigers

Athens, Ga. – The No. 3 women's tennis team swept Missouri 4-0 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex Friday afternoon to improve to 13-1 overall and remaining perfect in SEC play at 9-0.
Graduate Elena Christofi highlighted the match earning her 100th career doubles point defeating Ellie Wright and Bronte Murgett 6-3 on court two with partner senior Morgan Coppoc. Christofi improves to 100-45 all-time and is now ranked ninth all-time in Georgia women's tennis career doubles wins.
The rest of doubles played out with junior Meg Kowalski and sophomore Lea Ma defeating Gabrielle Goldin and Valentina Vazquez 6-2 on court three. The No. 3 duo of senior Katarina Jokic and freshman Ariana Arseneault went unfinished up 5-4 on court one.
No. 1 Jokic would breeze through her match defeating Wright 6-2, 6-1 on court one with No. 96 graduate Marta Gonzalez earning her second singles dual match win of the season, defeating Elys Ventura 6-3, 6-4 on court four. The match was clinched by No. 59 Ma who bested No. 76 Bronte Murgett 7-6(8), 6-4 on court two.
The Bulldogs will continue conference play on Sunday, April 4 against No. 24 Arkansas at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex with first serve set for 1 p.m.
