BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Junior Jenny Bae led Georgia with a 4-under 68 in Thursday's second round of the SEC Women's Golf Championships. That effort tied Bae's best score ever as a Bulldog and vaulted her up 17 spots on the individual leaderboard.

"Jenny played really well," head coach Josh Brewer said. "It's been nice because she's been able to play a good bit the past couple of weeks, and she's looking like the Jenny Bae we all know she can be. She's been able to post a low number, and Jo (Hua Hung) was close to posting another low number today. We just need to eliminate a few little things to get there."

As a team, the 10th-ranked Bulldogs shot 298 at Greystone Golf and Country Club and are in 14th place at 588 entering Friday's final round of stroke play qualifying.

"We'll go out tomorrow and try to shoot under par and play our best round of the tournament," Brewer said. "We're into the postseason and you want to have everyone playing great at this time of year. Jenny and Jo have played really well here the first two days. It would be really nice if we could get three or even four scores under par tomorrow to get us headed in the right direction for NCAA Regionals."

Bae was actually 5-under through 17 holes before posting her only bogey of the day at No. 9, her closing hole since Georgia began its round at No. 10. Bae birdied No. 11 and No. 18 to turn at 2-under and notched three more birdies at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 before giving one of those back. The bogey was only Bae's second over 36 holes on Wednesday and Thursday.

Bae matched her best round at Georgia of 4-under in the second round of The Ally last fall. It was the second straight day a Bulldog has tied their career-best score. Hung did so with a 3-under 69 on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Bulldogs also counted a 73 from Hung, a 78 from Alison Crenshaw and a 79 from Isabella Holpfer in the second round, while dropping Gabriela Coello's 81.

Overall, Bae is tied for 21st at 4-under 140, Hung is tied for 30th at 2-under 142, Holpfer is tied for 57th at 151, Crenshaw is tied for 65th at 155 and Coello is tied for 69th at 159.

The Bulldogs will play with Missouri and Texas A&M on Friday, teeing off between 10:10-10:50 ET from hole No. 10. Live scoring will be available via golfstat.com.
