No. 5 Bulldogs Swat No. 9 Yellow Jackets, 4-1

Athens, Ga. – In one of the most historic rivalries, the No. 5 Georgia women's tennis team defeated No. 9 Georgia Tech 4-1 at the Lindsey Hopkins Indoor Courts and improve to 3-1 on the season.
The match was clinched in a tiebreaker set with No.60 Meg Kowalski coming out and toppling No. 123 Gia Cohen 6-3, 7-6(8) on court three.
Senior Katarina Jokic had another career night, taking down two top-15 opponents in both doubles and singles. Jokic and freshman partner Ariana Arseneault upset No. 5 Kenya Jones and Victoria Flores. The back-to-back SEC Player of the Week has now upset three top-10 doubles opponents this season, Arseneault has upset two. In singles, No. 16 Jokic completed her third straight top-30 opponent, taking down No. 13 Jones in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
The doubles point would be clinched by Meg Kowalski and Lea Ma, taking down Sophia Sassoli and Monika Dedaj, 6-4. No. 37 Morgan Coppoc and Elena Christofi went unfinished knotted 5-5.
The rest of singles played out with No. 73 Coppoc besting opponent Mahak Jain 6-2, 6-2. No. 50 Marta Gonzalez went unfinished up 3-0 and Christofi went unfinished down 1-0.
The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m. against Georgia Southern at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
