No. 12 Bulldogs Host No. 18 UCF Knights

February 10, 2021 | Men's Tennis

ATHENS, Ga. – For the first time in program history, the 12th-ranked University of Georgia men's tennis team will take on the No. 18-ranked UCF Knights this Saturday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex with matches scheduled to begin at noon.

The Bulldogs enter the weekend's match undefeated, with their latest 5-2 victory over in-state foe Georgia Tech boosting their dual-match record to 4-0. UCF is 2-1 this season after back-to-back wins, most recently against Miami (4-3).

"We are really working hard for this weekend's challenge," Georgia head coach Manuel Diaz said. "UCF is a very good team, and they are hungry. It should be a great match for both teams and especially our fans."

Blake Croyder is on a 20-match win streak in dual singles, while graduate transfer Billy Rowe has won five-straight singles matches dating back to the fall campaign. Rowe paces Georgia in dual singles with his undefeated 4-0 mark.

In doubles, Philip Henning and Erik Grevelius are 4-0, with three of those wins coming at the No. 3 spot.

Weather permitting, Saturday's match will signal the first outdoor match of the 2021 season. While still limited, matches will be open to the general public— 275 fans are welcome to attend on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Available seating will be marked in the grandstands, as well as the grass berm behind the lower courts. Fan seating will not be available in the men's and women's team clubhouses or in the playing level area adjacent to Court 3.

To enter the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, fans are encouraged to enter through the main entrance in front of the men's tennis club house. Masks are required at all times while moving throughout the facility. However, those in attendance may remove their masks once socially distanced in their seats.

Please note— if matches are moved indoors, fans will not be permitted to attend.
