Bulldogs Earn Seven Wins at Clemson
November 05, 2021 | Men's Tennis
CLEMSON, S.C. — The University of Georgia men's tennis team posted five singles wins and a pair of doubles victories on the first day of the Clemson Invitational on Friday.
The Bulldogs went up against players from the host Tigers in cold conditions at the Duckworth Family Tennis Facility.
"Today was a productive day for our team," head coach Manuel Diaz said. "We didn't have much time to get acclimated to these courts and these conditions, but we responded well. It was tough, but overall I am very pleased with our effort and what we were able to do out here."
The teams split in doubles, with each squad picking up two triumphs. Erik Grevelius and Blake Croyder won their match 6-3, while Hamish Stewart and Philip Henning ousted Jacob Jahn and Maxwell Smith, 6-4.
In singles, Georgia won at five of the eight positions with Henning, Stewart, Miguel Perez Peña, Thomas Paulsell and Mathis Debru each recording wins.
