Georgia Falls to No. 8 Arkansas, 4-1

ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Georgia soccer team fell to No. 8 Arkansas, 4-1, in front of 687 spectators at the Turner Soccer Complex on Sunday night.
Senior midfielder Abby Boyan led Georgia (8-3-1, 1-2-1 SEC) with two shots and scored the only goal for the Red and Black. Six other Bulldogs notched one shot, totalling nine for the team. Senior goalkeeper Emory Wegener faced eight shots and made four saves.
The Razorbacks (9-2-0, 4-0-0 SEC) raced out to a fast start, scoring three goals in the first eight minutes. Boyan's strike came in the 13th minute as senior forward Dani Murguia broke away in the midfield and passed to Boyan who sat at the top of the 18-yard box to finish.
The final goal of the match came off a header in the 48th minute from Arkansas' Taylor Malham who was assisted by Kayla McKeon off a free kick.
Georgia hits the road this weekend as they face Missouri in Columbia on Thursday Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The match will be streamed on SEC Network +.
