University of Georgia Athletics

Brooks Bulletin - January 29

Hello!
It has been just 23 days since I was honored to be named J. Reid Parker Director of Athletics, and I want to update you on our plans and the progress we have made so far. You have welcomed me with open arms and my family and I appreciate all of the support from fans, donors, former and current student-athletes, family and friends.
From the first day I stepped foot on campus in 2008, I knew Georgia was a special place. From the magnificent campus, to the top-tier academics, and the championship-caliber athletics programs, there isn't an all-in-one University like this anywhere else in the country. I believe my role is to sustain this level of excellence while also enhancing the experience for all stakeholders.
One of my top priorities is building on our tremendous tradition by bolstering and enriching the Georgia Athletic Association experience for our entire community, particularly our student-athletes, coaches, staff, donors and fans. Â
We are challenging our staff to get better and be creative in ways to improve the fan experience. We do this by listening to what our fans have to say about creating the ultimate fan-centric gameday. By hearing what our student-athletes and coaches need to provide the appropriate and necessary resources to maximize training and development. --And by finding new ways to provide outstanding support services for our student-athletes in academics, in competition and in life. We never want to be accepting of where we are, and we should always strive to be the best. Â
Another goal is for us to bring something new to the plate each year. While the pandemic may restrict us from implementing some of our new initiatives this year, we are excited to be offering the Topgolf Live Stadium Tour here in Sanford Stadium this June. Much like the concert we held in 2013, this is a unique experience that has never been seen Between the Hedges. Make sure to visit www.topgolflive.com on February 4th for a chance to be a part of this groundbreaking event. It's going to be great!
We've often been asked how our fans can help. You have been tremendous throughout this unusual year, supporting our annual funds, our COVID 19 Relief Fund and our student athletes. We cannot thank you enough! The one thing we need now is YOU. I ask those that do have tickets to our events, if you aren't able to make it, transfer your tickets to someone that can, or sell them on our official secondary market partner Stubhub. While we may be limited in capacity at our events this year, the student-athletes thrive on your support and energy. We want fans in every seat we are able to fill. Contact the ticket office at gatickets@sports.uga.edu with any questions. Â
Lastly, I want you to know that we will approach every task, event, and goal with the thought in mind of what is best for the University of Georgia. We can only do that with your support. If you have questions, or suggestions on how we can improve your experience here, please don't hesitate to email us at experience@uga.edu. Â
Thank you. You are critical to our success and we couldn't do this without you.  We can't wait until we are able to celebrate together again. Until then be well, stay safe and GO DAWGS!
