UGA Announces Fan Attendance Policies for Volleyball
September 29, 2020 | Volleyball
ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia Athletic Association has announced capacity and fan policies and procedures for the upcoming women's volleyball season at Stegeman Coliseum.
Volleyball matches at Stegeman Coliseum will be open to the public. Admission is free and tickets are not required for entry. Following University of Georgia COVID-19 on-campus policy, fans will be required to wear face coverings at all times while in Stegeman Coliseum and social distancing measures will be practiced.
Concessions will be open; however, Stegeman Coliseum will feature cashless payments. Only credit and debit cards will be accepted.
"We cannot wait to have our fans back in Stegemen getting behind us as we compete this fall," said head coach Tom Black. "We want to thank Greg McGarity, Josh Brooks, and UGAAA administration for their tireless work to make this happen."
"In preparation for the volleyball season, we used the same methodology we used at Sanford Stadium to maintain social distancing while maximizing our capacity," said Senior Deputy Athletic Director Josh Brooks. "We feel we have a great plan to keep student-athletes, staff, and fans safe while enjoying events at Stegeman Coliseum."
The Bulldogs open the 2020 campaign Oct. 17 and 18, hosting the South Carolina Gamecocks. Georgia hosts Alabama Nov. 7 and 8 for the final home matches of the fall season.
The 2020 SEC volleyball season will consist of an eight-match, Conference-only schedule over six weeks of competition beginning Oct. 16 with each school competing against four opponents twice in the same weekend on back-to-back days.
