23 Bulldogs Named to CSCAA Scholar All-America Team
July 09, 2020 | Swimming & Diving
ATHENS, Ga. – Twenty-three members of the University of Georgia swimming and diving team were named to the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team, as announced by the organization Wednesday.
The team recognizes students who achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher during the season and had either qualified for the NCAA Championships prior to the COVID-19 pandemic or had posted a B-cut time standard during the season.
The Bulldogs' 13 first-team selections were highlighted by honors for seniors Jordan Stout and Clayton Forde, who both earned a place on the All-America team in each of their four seasons in Athens. Junior Olivia Anderson continued a similar trend as she was named to the team for the third-consecutive season.
Senior Veronica Burchill, juniors Danielle Della Torre, Courtney Harnish, and Jack Dalmolin, and sophomores Andrew Abruzzo, Portia Brown, and Callie Dickinson all earned their second placement on the team. Rounding out the first teamers for Georgia were senior Sofia Carnevale, sophomore Dakota Luther, and freshman Ashley McCauley, who were all named to the team for the first time.
On the second team, senior Freida Lim concluded her Georgia career with her third honor in as many years, while fellow senior Jackson Ford earned his second All-American accolade. Additionally, sophomores Caleb Harrington and Keegan Walsh repeated on the team. Senior Lexi Glunn, juniors Sammie Burchill, Joshua Fulcher, and Julia von Biberstein, and sophomores Ellie Crump and Ananda Lim each made the team for the first time in their careers.
Georgia's 13 first-team selections helped contribute to the Southeastern Conference's nation-leading 137 first-team selections, a 10-athlete increase from the 2018-19 season.
