ATHENS, Ga. --- Georgia golfers Calum Masters, Trent Phillips, and Davis Thompson have been chosen as 2020 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars, according to an announcement this week by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Georgia has 23 Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar awards among 14 players dating back to 1984. The Masters, Phillips, and Thompson selections mark the first time Georgia has had three players honored in the same season. Previous honorees include current PGA Tour standouts Kevin Kisner (2005, 2006), Brendon Todd (2006, 2007), and Harris English (2010, 2011).

Masters, a senior, had a scoring average of 73.28 in his lone season with the Bulldogs and a career GPA of 3.55 in Exercise and Sport Science at Troy and Georgia. He came in second in the Crooked Stick Invitational, helping the Bulldogs claim the team title. Masters appeared in six of the Bulldogs' seven events during the shortened 2019-20 campaign. He recently was named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.

Phillips, a sophomore, led the Bulldogs with a scoring average of 69.75, including 11-of-24 rounds in the 60s. He was named First-Team All-American and First-Team All-SEC and to the All-Southeast Region Team. Phillips picked up his first collegiate victory in the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic with a score of 20-under 193 to break the school mark of 18-under 195 set in 2007 by Chris Kirk. He had five additional top-10 efforts. The recipient of the Jack Carlyle Fraser Memorial Golf Scholarship and a selection to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll, Phillips has a career GPA of 3.33 in Sport Management.

Thompson, a junior, was a First-Team All-American and First-Team All-SEC and was named to the All-Southeast Region Team. He was picked for the United States' Arnold Palmer Cup Team and he was a finalist for the Haskins and the Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year awards. Thompson won the Jim Rivers Invitational for the second victory of his career and led the Bulldogs to the team title. He recorded four additional top-10 finishes. Thompson wound up with a scoring average of 69.95, including 9-of-21 rounds in the 60s. He appeared in two PGA Tour events, the RSM Classic and the Puerto Rico Open. Thompson held the Jack and Mary Dinos Men's Golf Scholarship and boasts a career GPA of 3.66 in Sport Management. He also was named to the Spring SEC Academic Honor Roll.
