ATHENS -- Former University of Georgia star athletes Willie Anderson and Jeff Treadway will be inducted into the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame Saturday at the annual ceremonies in Macon.

Anderson, a two-time All-Southeastern Conference basketball performer with the Bulldogs, was a member of the 1988 United States Olympic bronze medal basketball team.  Anderson finished his career at Georgia as the No. 8 scorer all-time (1,350 points) and the No. 4 assist man (334).  Anderson continued his career in the NBA, playing with the San Antonio Spurs and the Toronto Raptors.  A first-round draft pick by the Spurs, Anderson made the All-Rookie Team in 1989 and played with the Spurs for seven of his 11 years in the NBA, ultimately scoring nearly 7,000 points during his career.

Treadway played collegiate baseball for Middle Georgia College before transferring to Georgia where he posted a career batting average of .381, still fourth best in the all-time Georgia record books.  He played nine years in major league baseball with five different teams, most notably the Atlanta Braves. As a member of the 1991 Worst-to-First Braves, he was the first Brave in Atlanta to score a run in a World Series game. After the majors, Jeff began his coaching career with the Macon Braves. He then went on to coach baseball and softball for Stratford Academy in Macon, garnering five state championships and numerous Coach of the Year awards.
