Four Bulldogs Receive All-SEC Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia soccer players, junior midfielder Abby BOyan, senior defender Kayla Bruster, junior defender Cecily Stoute, and junior goalkeeper Emory Wegener, have garnered All-Southeastern Conference accolades, it was announced Thursday. 
 
Boyan was a first-team selection, while Bruster, Stoute, and Wegener were named to the second-team. 
 
Boyan leads the team with two goals scored this season, both of which were game-winners.  She attempted 22 shots with 10 on frame.  She leads field players in minutes, having played a full seven games this season.
 
Bruster and Stoute are key components to Georgia's defense, which ranks second in the league for shutouts.  Bruster started in six games before missing the last match due to a having surgery on a broken finger suffered at Vanderbilt.  She took four shots with two on target.  Stoute started in all seven games and only missed a total of eight minutes of playing time.  She had one shot on goal. 
 
Wegener is the SEC's active goalkeeper with the most starts. She played a full seven games, making a total of 31 saves and earning two shutouts.  Until Georgia's final game of the regular season she had only allowed four goals. 
 
Georgia is headed to Orange Beach, Alabama for the 2020 SEC Tournament. As the ninth seed, the Bulldogs received a first round bye into Sunday's second round. Georgia will meet the eight-seed Auburn on November 15 at 5 p.m. CT on the SEC Network.
