Georgia Announces Fall 2020 Spectator Policy

October 27, 2020 | Swimming & Diving

ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Georgia has announced spectator attendance polices for the fall 2020 swimming and diving slate at Gabrielsen Natatorium.

Due to social distancing measures involving the student-athletes, there will be no spectators allowed inside the natatorium for the dual meets against Florida (Oct. 30) and Auburn (Nov. 6), as well as the Georgia Invitational (Nov. 18-20).

The Florida and Auburn meets, as well as the majority of the Georgia Invitational, will be live streamed on SEC Network+.

These policies are in effect for the fall 2020 events, but will be reassessed prior to the three events held at Gabrielsen in 2021.

"We love having our fans at our meets and the energy they bring, but we also love being able to compete at the highest level," said Tom Cousins Swimming & Diving Head Coach Jack Bauerle. "The most important matter at this time is ensuring the safest possible environment for competition. We look forward to welcoming our fans back in the near future."

The University of Georgia Athletic Association and the Ramsey Center will work in accordance with local and national health guidelines, as well as the Southeastern Conference, to determine policies for the remainder of the Bulldogs' season.
