Bulldogs Finish Day Two of UT Fall Invite

Knoxville, Tenn. – The Georgia women's tennis team concluded day two of the UT Fall Invite picking up 10 combined singles and doubles wins.
In doubles against South Carolina, Marta Gonzalez and Meg Kowalski on court three defeated Elise Mills and Gabriela Martinez 6-1. Morgan Coppoc and Ania Hertel on court two picked up a 7-5 win against Emma Shelton and Silvia Chinellato. Katarina Jokic and Ariana Arseneault were bested by Mia Horvit and Megan Davies on court one, 6-0.
In doubles against Tennessee, Hertel and Arseneault, on court one, defeated Carly Briggs and Daria Kuczer 7-6(7). The junior duo of Coppoc and Jokic went up against Esther Adesgina and Tenika McGiffin winning 6-2 followed by Gonzalez and Kowalski picking up their second win on the day beating Rebeka Martena and Johanna Silva, 6-3.
In singles versus Vanderbilt, Kowalski on court two defeated Marcella Cruz 6-3, 6-0 followed by Gonzalez on court one taking down Holly Staff 6-3, 6-1. Arseneault on court six picked up her first win of the event beating Dasha Kourkiona 7-6(7), 6-2. Jokic, in three sets, defeated Emma Kurtz 6-2, 2-6, 6-2 on court three. Alee Clayton matched up against Kendall Couch of South Carolina, winning 6-4, 6-1. Hertel went up against Anessa Lee and was beaten 6-4, 6-4 on court five. Coppoc rounded out the singles action facing off against Meyer and ultimately fell in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 4-6.
The Bulldogs will finish the UT Fall Invite starting with singles against South Carolina at 11 a.m. before returning home in preparation a home tournament Oct. 23-25 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.
