More than 50 Former Bulldogs to Play in G-Day Lettermen's Game

ATHENS, Ga. — Georgia will have its annual lettermen's flag football game prior to the Bulldogs' G-Day spring game in Sanford Stadium on Saturday, April 20. More than 50 Georgia football letter winners from seven different decades are set to participate in the game, which is scheduled to begin at 11:20 a.m. prior to G-Day kickoff at 2 p.m. 

Paul Messer, who lettered from 1984-85, will coach the Red Team and will be assisted by Jody Tanner (Team manager, 1983). Coaching the White Team will be Todd Wheeler, a Bulldog letterman from 1985-88. Former Georgia center and three-year letterman Bobby Poss (1969-71), along with 1971 letterman Johnny Cobb, will serve as the announcers. 

The Bulldog lettermen playing on Team Messer (Red Team) include: Javaris Johnson (1997-2000), Adrian Goodman (1995-98), Des Williams (2003-04, 2006), Ryan Schnetzer (2003-05), Casey Nickels (2009), Todd Wade (1986), Jeremiah Beall (1997), Matt McCormick (1988-89), Vince Vance (2007-09), LaBrone Mitchell (1998-2001), Tony Taylor (2002-03), Durell Robinson (2000), Richard Samuel (2008-09, 2011-12), Tyson Browning (2003-05), Clay Ware (1991), Stanley Lott (Trainer, 1988), D.J. Pascale (1977), Blan Jordan (1987), Pud Mosteller (1954-56), Robert Bell (1988-89), Jake Hooten (2004), Joe Teasley (1995), Deshay McKever (1992-95), Carter McInnis (Manager, 1997) and Brandon Miller (1996-99).

Kickoff for this year's G-Day is set for 2 p.m. There will be no admission fee charged, and Sanford Stadium gates will open at 11 a.m.
