Georgia (19-2) is riding a 10-game winning streak and is off to its best start since 2009 when it began the year 19-2. Foley Field will be the site of a top 10 matchup for the first time since 2009 when top-ranked Georgia played host to No. 2 LSU and No. 5 Arkansas in April of that year. Currently, LSU is 16-5 overall and 3-0 in the SEC after sweeping Kentucky last weekend in Baton Rouge. The Bulldogs 3-0 SEC start is their first since 2007. LSU leads the all-time series with Georgia 67-21-3. The teams haven't faced each other since 2017 when the Tigers posted a three-game sweep in Baton Rouge.
Â
In 2019, Georgia has relied on outstanding pitching and defense plus timely hitting. The pitching staff has a 2.52 ERA, and the starters are 15-1 with a 2.00 ERA. The loss came 1-0 on an unearned run versus LIU Brooklyn. The Bulldogs will employ the same rotation versus LSU as the opening SEC weekend they used against the Gamecocks in Columbia.
