Haley Sorrell Named SEC Freshman of the Week

ATHENS, Ga. --- After scoring the lone goal in a win over Florida, Georgia forward Haley Sorrell has been named the Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week.
The Bulldogs and Gators remained scoreless in Thursday night's Halloween match until 90 seconds left in the game when Sorrell booted the ball to the back right corner of the net off an assist from sophomore midfielder Abby Boyan for the game-winner.
The win snapped a 12-game losing streak against the Gators, dating back to 2008 and punched the team's ticket to the 2019 Southeastern Conference Tournament in Orange Beach, Alabama.
Georgia is on a five-game unbeaten streak and will be the sixth seed in the SEC Tournament. As the sixth seed, the Bulldogs will receive a first round bye into Tuesday's quarterfinals round. Georgia will meet the three-seed South Carolina on November 5 at 2:30 CT on the SEC Network.
