Wolff Advances to Round of 32 in ITA All-America Championships

TULSA, OKLA.-----Georgia junior Vivian Wolff notched a singles win the first day of ITA All-America Championships play to advance to the Round of 32 while rain postponed doubles action to Thursday.
The tournament highlights an elite field of 64 on the campus of the University of Tulsa. Wolff opened the day for Georgia, defeating Ayumi Miyamoto of Oklahoma State in a three-set battle 6-3,2-6,7-5. She now moves to 7-4 on the season and will face No. 7 Makenna Jones of North Carolina Thursday at 2 p.m. ET.
In the third match of her fall-season debut, defending SEC Freshman of the Year Meg Kowalski, ranked 69th, fell to No. 36th-ranked Isabelle Boulais (Ohio State) 7-6(4),6-2. Paris Corley (LSU) upset Georgia's 13th-ranked Marta Gonzalez 6-2,6-4. Kowalski and Gonzalez will continue action in the consolation bracket.
Doubles play was postponed to Thursday morning due to rain. The No. 19th-ranked tandem of Elena Christofi and Wolff will take on Jasmine Asghar and Oleksandra Korashvili of Oklahoma at 11 a.m. ET. Two rounds of doubles are scheduled Thursday.
The women's singles quarterfinalists, consolation finalists, along with the doubles semifinalists and consolation finalists will earn automatic entry into the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships slated for Nov. 6-10 in Newport Beach, Calif.
