Bulldogs Post Wins in Atlanta, Finish Action in Tulsa

ATHENS, Ga. — A pair of Georgia men's tennis freshmen — Mateo Reyes and Erik Grevelius — each won two singles matches on Sunday to advance to the consolation finals at the Georgia Tech Fall Invitational.
Reyes defeated William Grattan-Smith from Miami as well as Auburn's Thomas Wright to advance, while Grevelius ousted Thomas Brown from South Carolina and Clemson's Yi Zhou Liu to move on. Reyes and Grevelius will play their finals' matches on Monday.
In other action, Georgia senior Alex Phillips advanced all the way to the Navy Draw singles semifinals, before tripping up to Auburn's Diego Chavarria in a three-set match, 2-6, 6-4, 6-3.
Out in Tulsa, Okla., Georgia's Blake Croyder and Philip Henning saw their run in the main draw consolation bracket come to an end in the finals. The sophomore duo fell to Florida's Oliver Crawford and Sam Riffice, 6-4, 6-3.
The loss comes after an impressive week for Henning, who finished with 10 combined singles and doubles wins at the ITA All-America Championships. He advanced to the main draw Round of 16 in singles to improve his overall record to 8-2 this fall.
