Bulldogs Begin Preseason Training

August 01, 2018 | Soccer

ATHENS, Ga. --- The Georgia soccer team began preparations for the upcoming season on Wednesday with a morning and evening training session.

"It's exciting to be back," head coach Billy Lesesne said. "It's a long summer, but we've had a lot of the team here preparing on their own and it looks like they have done some good work because we're at a good starting point here.  We are focused on our growth as we go forward, but we've started well and we're looking forward to the challenges our season is going to have in front of us."

Training will take place throughout the week and continue next week, leading up to the exhibition match at Duke on Thursday, August 9 in Durham, North Carolina.

The 2018 Georgia soccer season kicks off on August 17 on the road against Georgetown at a tournament hosted by Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.  The home opener for the Bulldogs is scheduled for Friday, August 24 against Indiana at 7 p.m. Admission to the Turner Soccer Complex is free.
