ATHENS, Ga. — Four University of Georgia men's tennis players — Sam Dromsky, Robert Loeb, Andy Martinez and Alex Phillips — earned the 2018 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete honor, according to an announcement by the ITA.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).

"I am very proud of these four guys and the hard work they put into the classroom this year," head coach Manuel Diaz said. "Being a student-athlete is not easy with all the time commitments for practice and matches, but these four did a tremendous job balancing school work and all the things that go into playing at this level. All of these guys have bright futures, and I look forward to seeing their hard work pay off."

Martinez currently works full-time with an investment banker in Atlanta after earning his degree from the University of Georgia this past May.

Dromsky, a native of Augusta, Ga., boasts a 3.75 GPA in biology and is currently studying abroad in Oxford, England. Following graduation, he plans on attending dental school.

A 2017 ITA All-American and first-team All-SEC selection, Loeb is majoring in housing management and policy. Phillips, who is entering his junior year, is majoring in management information systems with a minor in computer science. The Peachtree City, Ga., native is a two-time selection to the SEC Academic Honor Roll and will be a representative on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee this season.
