Ten Swimmers Earn Conference Honors

ATHENS, Ga. --- Ten Georgia swimmers have earned Southeastern Conference postseason recognition, according to an announcement Thursday by the league office.
Sophomore Javier Acevedo, who won the conference title in the 100-yard backstroke, was picked for the men's All-SEC First Team. Acevedo also placed second in the 200-yard backstroke and 10th in the 50-yard freestyle and competed on four relays at the SECs.
Courtney Harnish was named to the women's All-SEC First Team as well as to the women's All-Freshman Team. Harnish won the SEC crown in the 1,650-yard freestyle and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle and 11th in the 200-yard freestyle. She also competed on the 800-yard freestyle that came in second.
The First Teams were made up of the top finisher in each event at the SEC Championships.
The women's All-SEC Second Team featured seniors Megan Kingsley, Meaghan Raab and Kylie Stewart; sophomores Veronica Burchill and Jordan Stout; and freshmen Olivia Anderson and Gabi Fa'amausili. Raab took second in the 200-yard freestyle, Kingsley was second in the 200-yard butterfly and Burchill finished second in the 100-yard freestyle. Burchill, Stout and Raab joined Harnish on the runner-up 800-yard freestyle relay and Burchill, Stewart, Fa'amausili and Raab made up the third-place 400-yard freestyle relay.
The Second Teams consist of the second- and third-place finishers in each event at the SECs.
Anderson and Fa'amausili joined Harnish on the women's All-Freshman Team. Anderson came in third in the 1,650-yard freestyle and Fa'amausili placed seventh in the 50-yard freestyle.
Camden Murphy made the men's All-Freshman Team. Murphy finished fifth in the 200-yard butterfly and sixth in the 100-yard butterfly.
The All-Freshman Teams were made up of any redshirt or true freshman who finished either in the top eight or was the highest-scoring freshman in the event, excluding relays, during the SECs.
