FORT WORTH, Texas --- Led by individual leader Trent Phillips, the 10th-ranked Georgia men's golf team improved to sixth from 12th on Monday in the Fifth Annual Nike Collegiate Invitational.

Playing the par-70, 7,209-yard layout at Colonial Country Club, the Bulldogs carded a 2-under 278 in the second round to go to 10-over 570 for the tournament. Georgia's move up the leaderboard was the greatest in the field on Monday. Duke has the team lead at 1-under 559, followed by Clemson at 561, and Texas and Wake Forest both at 564.

Phillips, a freshman from Inman, S.C., signed for a 2-under 69, making him a perfect 5-for-5 with rounds in the 60s to begin his collegiate career. Phillips stands in an 8-way tie for first individually at 3-under 137.

Also Monday, junior Spencer Ralston rebounded with a 1-under 70, while junior Will Chandler notched a even-par 70 and sophomore Davis Thompson had a 1-over 71. Redshirt junior Tye Waller had the Bulldogs' non-counting round of 2-over 72.

Chandler moved to 3-over 143, followed by Ralston and Thompson each at 6-over 146, and Waller at 7-over 147.

The Bulldogs will be paired in the final round on Tuesday with Wake Forest and Vanderbilt. The round will open at 9:15 a.m., and results can be found at Golfstat.com.

After the Nike Collegiate Invitational, the Bulldogs will play in the Jack Nicklaus Invitational in Dublin, Ohio, Oct. 8-9.
