ATHENS, Ga. - Eighth-ranked Florida overcame an early Georgia lead to top the Bulldogs 6-3 on Saturday in the second of a three-game set at Foley Field.

Georgia (17-27, 5-15 SEC) garnered the first lead in the bottom of the second with a Keegan McGovern leadoff walk and a Mitchell Webb RBI single, but the Florida (29-13, 12-8 SEC) offense evened the score in the top of the third on a walk and a double of their own.

The tie proved short lived, as the Bulldogs connected on three consecutive hits on two outs from Cam Shepherd, Michael Curry and Keegan McGovern to secure a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third.

In the seventh, Georgia starter Chase Adkins (5-5) loaded up the bases off a single, a hit by pitch and a walk before surrendering the mound to Ryan Avidano. The Gators then scored five runs off three base hits and two sacrifice flies, to make the score 6-1.

Adkins cruised through the first six innings, giving up one run as the Florida offense scattered seven hits. On the Gators side, Florida starter Brady Singer (5-3) tossed eight innings, holding the Bulldogs to three runs with 10 hits.

The remaining Georgia relievers, Tim Elliott and Trevor Tinder, supplied an inning apiece of scoreless work in the final frames, while Florida closer Michael Byrne earned his 10th save on the year.

Dawg Tracks:
*Tucker Bradley posted another three-hit game, going 3-for-5 with two doubles. The freshman is 6-for-10 in the series against Florida.
*Cam Shepherd's two singles marked his team-leading 17th multi-hit game. The freshman also scored the go-ahead run in the second inning for Georgia.
*The Georgia offense accumulated three earned runs against Florida's starting pitcher Brady Singer, who pitched eight innings. The sophomore pitcher has only given up three earned runs on one other occasion, at South Carolina.
*Eight of the nine Georgia hitters recorded at least one hit on the day, tallying up to 12.

Coach's Corner
Ike Cousins Head Coach Scott Stricklin
On Florida's five-run seventh:
"Chase Adkins was throwing the ball really well but I think we got ourselves into some trouble when we had the bases loaded and they found some holes. That inning certainly killed us."

On the hits from Tucker Bradley and Cam Shepherd in the bottom of the ninth:
"We went into the 9th with two outs and nobody on. Tucker Bradley and Cam Shepherd had two great hacks and that's all we can ask for. Unfortunately Michael Curry had some good swings but it just didn't happen for him. I'm proud of the way these guys fought today."

On Bradley's three-hit day:
"Tucker Bradley has always had the potential. When he came in we didn't know if he was our best guy but we knew he was really close to it. He's a really good baseball player and it's been fun watching him play and grow up."
