Lesesne Announces Spring Schedule

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia soccer head coach Billy Lesesne announced the team's 2017 spring schedule on Monday.
Three of Georgia's seven spring opponents earned bids to the 2016 NCAA Women's Soccer Tournament, including two teams that advanced to the Elite 8 and one to the Final Four.
"I am extremely excited for our spring schedule," Lesesne said. "We have exhibitions scheduled against top soccer programs both regionally and nationally. These games should be a good measure of our growth and development as a program. It is also noteworthy that all of our games will be on the road this spring as we excitedly follow the progress of the major renovations taking place at the Turner Soccer Complex."
Due to construction of a new grandstand and pressbox at the Turner Soccer Complex, all games this spring will be played away from Athens.
The spring slate will begin on Sunday, Feb. 26 with the Bulldogs traveling to Jacksonville, Florida for a double-header. Georgia will face the University of North Florida prior to playing Jacksonville University.
Next up for the Bulldogs is Southeastern Conference rival South Carolina, which Georgia will face on Saturday, March 18 in Greenville, South Carolina. Georgia then travels to Macon, Georgia to face the Mercer Bears on Saturday, March 25. The following week Georgia is set to take on another SEC foe as the squad travels to the Georgia Soccer Park in Atlanta to play Auburn.
Spring matches will conclude with a double-header in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Bulldogs are set to face the University of North Carolina Tar Heels on Sunday, April 9 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a match against Virginia Tech at 12:30 p.m.
