
Catching Up With Vivi Babalis

ATHENS, Ga. — Vivi Babalis, a rising junior on Georgia's gymnastics team, was a mainstay in the Gymdog lineup this past spring.
The Montreal, Quebec, Canada native featured in all 16 meets on beam and floor, helping Georgia reach the Super Six for the third time in four years.
Babalis took some time to tell us about being a Gymdog, her takeaway from 2016 and getting to go home for the summer.
Q: Where are you currently training?
Babalis: I was training back home in Canada this past month and will now start training in Athens.
Q: What's one thing that you will always remember about the 2016 team outside of competition?
Babalis: The chemistry that we all shared. The love and the support that everyone had for each other was very special.
Q: Have you been learning any new skills this summer?
Babalis: I am hoping to add two new skills this coming year.
Q: What were your main goals entering summer training?
Babalis: My main goal is working on my consistency and adding two new skills.
Q: What's been most enjoyable for you this summer?
Babalis: Being home and spending time with my family and friends.
Q: What are you most excited for when you return to Athens and the start of thee new school year?
Babalis: I am excited and can't wait to get back in the gym with all my girls and my coaches and start training all together.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Gymdog?
Babalis: My favorite thing about the Gymdogs is the bond that we all share. It is like being a part of another family. I feel home away from home.
