June 21, 2016 | Gymnastics
ATHENS, Ga. — Jasmine Arnold, a rising junior in the Gymdog program, took home the 2016 Sam Sheehan Spirit Award for outstanding support of her teammates last spring.
Arnold has yet to crack the competition lineup in her two years at Georgia, though she has been working hard over the summer to sharpen her skills in the gym.
The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native took some time to tell us how her summer is going, her memories of 2016 and more.
Q: Where are you currently training?
Arnold: I am currently training here in Athens.
Q: What's one thing that you will always remember about the 2016 team outside of competition?
Arnold: I always remember how much fun we all have when we are together and how we are all made up of so many different characteristics and backgrounds; it's what makes every one of us special.
Q: Have you been learning any new skills this summer?
Arnold: This summer I have mostly been working on learning a couple new passes on floor.
Q: What were your main goals entering summer training? How are you progressing?
Arnold: My main goal for summer is to become more consistent, learn new skills, and challenge myself. I feel I have been doing well challenging myself everyday in the gym.
Q: What's been most enjoyable for you this summer?
Arnold: Getting to train fully again and have some vacation time with my family.
Q: What is your favorite thing about being a Gymdog?
