The Georgia women's tennis team will be hosting NCAA regionals at home as the fifth seed.

ATHENS, Ga. -- The fourth-ranked Georgia women's tennis team learned its opponents for the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament with the announcement of the bracket via the NCAA selection show Tuesday night.

The Bulldogs drew the fifth overall seed and will first host North Florida in the first round, and the winner of that contest will face the winner of Wake Forest and Baylor. Georgia will compete on Friday, May 13, at 4 p.m., and if it wins it will play its second match on Saturday, May 14, at 4 p.m.

"We're fired up to be in the NCAA Tournament," said Georgia head coach Jeff Wallace. "We had a great regular season, we're the fifth seed, and we're just really looking forward to getting underway. It's always an exciting part of the year for us and the fact that we're hosting in the early rounds is great."

Georgia, appearing in its 30th consecutive NCAA Tournament, has never faced North Florida, the Atlantic Sun's automatic qualifier, or Wake Forest in the postseason. The Bulldogs are 1-0 all-time against Baylor in the NCAA Tournament.

Georgia is led into postseason play by All-SEC honorees Caroline Brinson, Ellen Perez and Kennedy Shaffer. Perez was named to the first team after going 16-2 in spring play, 13-1 in conference play. Shaffer led Georgia with 19 dual wins and seven match clinchers, and Brinson claimed 13 wins this spring and won the ITA Southeast Regional singles crown this fall.

North Florida is unranked after earning the A-Sun's guaranteed berth, while Wake Forest is ranked 26th and Baylor is 38th. The Bulldogs have yet to lose a match this season to teams ranked outside of the top five at the time of the match.

"It's always nice to play at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex," added Wallace. "It's such a great place to play and we've hosted many NCAA Tournaments. It's going to be a lot of fun for our players to get back on the courts."

Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children/students and free for children age 2 and under. Tickets will go on sale online via the school's official athletics website at www.georgiadogs.com beginning on Wednesday at 9 a.m. ET and running through Friday, May 13 at 8 a.m. ET. All ticket sales after that will take place at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex.

Georgia's men's squad will also be hosting a NCAA regional, welcoming South Carolina State, Florida State and Baylor to the Classic City. The men's bracket will begin with two matches on Saturday and conclude on Sunday.
