Head Coach Josh Brewer recaps Georgia's 18th place finish at the NCAA Women's Golf Championships.

EUGENE, Oregon --- The Georgia women's golf team wrapped up its 2015-16 season by tying for 18th at the NCAA Championships at the Eugene Country Club on Sunday. The Bulldogs shot 10-over 298 and covered their 54 holes of the tournament at 23-over 887.
Bailey Tardy led Georgia with her second-straight even-par 72. The Bulldogs' additional counting tallies were a 73 from Harang Lee, a 75 from Jillian Hollis and a 78 from Rinko Mitsunaga.
Georgia failed to make the cut from 24 teams to 15 for Monday's final round of stroke play by four shots.
"It's disappointing," head coach Josh Brewer said. "We thought we'd be playing on Wednesday, and we're going home after Sunday. It's not what we wanted. We'll learn from this. We missed the cut by a few shots, but at the same time, we came here to finish in the top eight and make match play. We would have had a hard time doing that tomorrow. We had an off week and picked the wrong time to do it."
The Bulldogs teed off from No. 10 and played the back side of the course first. Tardy opened her day with 11 straight pars before a bogey at No. 3. She regained that stroke with a birdie at No. 6 before finishing with a trio of pars.
Overall, Lee tied for 45th at 220, Hollis and Tardy both tied for 58th at 221, Mitsunaga tied for 90th at 225 and Mary Ellen Shuman, who shot 81 on Sunday, placed 127th at 239.
"We just didn't make putts," Brewer said. "We didn't make the five-, six-, eight-footers that we've made all year. I don't know if we'll ever know why. I wish I had a better answer. In three weeks, we're going to look at this and it's going to be one of the greatest years in Georgia history, including winning that (NCAA) Regional title, but right now it's heart-breaking to end a great year this way."
The round wraps up one of the most successful seasons in the program's history. Georgia won nine tournament titles during the campaign - five team and four individual. That equals the third-most in Georgia Golf history and the most since earning 10 trophies en route to an NCAA runner-up finish in 1998-99. The five team wins match the third-most in UGA annals, while the four individual crowns ties the program's second-most ever.
Georgia, which was making its first appearance in the NCAA Championships since 2009, posted its 26th top-20 finish at the national championships since becoming an intercollegiate sport in 1979.
Individually, four Bulldogs earned SEC accolades. Tardy was named SEC Freshman of the Year, first-team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman. Harang Lee was voted first-team All-SEC. Jillian Hollis was tabbed both second-team All-SEC and to the SEC All-Freshman team. Mitsunaga earned a spot on the SEC All-Freshman squad.
