April 1, 2016
ATHENS, Ga. - The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at the University of Georgia is hosting the inaugural UGA Student-Athlete Mental Health Awareness Week, next week, April 4-8.
In order to be successful at an elite level student-athletes must ensure that they are fully prepared to meet the competition at full strength, both mentally and physically. Ensuring that our student-athletes not only have the best available resources to keep their bodies but also their minds in the best possible shape is our Commitment to the G.
The week will be filled with activities including yoga, a screening of the movie Mindgame, the National Student Athlete Day carnival and a “Let’s Talk About It” breakfast.
To keep up-to-date with all of the events during the week, follow @thegeorgiaway on Twitter and use the hashtag committomentalhealth.
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) is made up of representatives from each sport that meet regularly to discuss issues that affect student life. The mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image.
