Consolation Run Ends For Christofi

FLUSHING, N.Y. ----- Georgia freshman Eleni Christofi fell to Kentucky's Aldia Sutjiadi in the consolation quarterfinals Saturday at the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships.
The Wildcat senior, ranked No. 23 nationally, registered a 6-3,6-1 over Christofi to advance. Christofi concludes the fall with a record of 12-3 including winning the ITA Southeast Regional single title.
The USTA/ITA National Indoors, held at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Complex, marks the final event of the fall season.
Georgia will open the dual match indoor season on Jan. 28 when it plays host to a four-team ITA Kickoff event at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex. The Bulldogs will face New Mexico at 1 p.m. with Georgia State and Illinois rounding out the field.
The winner of the two-day event advances to the ITA National Team Indoor Championships (Feb. 10-13 in New Haven Conn.)
