Lauren Herring, Ellen Perez Advance In NCAA Doubles

WACO, Texas----Georgia's 11th-ranked Lauren Herring and Ellen Perez won their opening round doubles match against Miami's Lina Lileikite and Stephanie Wagner (17), 6-2, 6-2 at the NCAA Championships Thursday.
Herring and Perez advance to play Florida's Brooke Austin and Kourtney Keegan in the round of 16 Friday at 3 p.m. ET at Baylor University's Hurd Tennis Center.
"It's always good to get that first win under your belt, especially here where the conditions were kind of difficult," Herring said. "I thought we played well today."
The Bulldog duo is now 18-8 this season, including nine wins against ranked opponents. They extended their winning streak to six matches with the win against the Hurricanes.
